Vegetarian Chicken Loaves Recipe

Vegetarian Chicken Loaves Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 16 sheets bean curd skin

  • 2 16-inch square cheese cloth

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1/3 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup hot stock or hot water

Method:

  1. Mix everything except bean curd skin and cheese cloth in a bowl; let stand for later use

  2. Place a bean curd skin on a flat tray; spread 1 tablespoon of mixture #1 on the skin. Place another bean curd skin on top of mixture #1. Spread 1 tablespoon of mixture #1 on the skin. Repeat this for 6 times (each loaf takes 8 sheets). Fold in the sides to make an 8" X 2" oblong loaf; wrap the loaf in cheese cloth.

  3. Prepare another loaf with the remaining bean curd skins. Place the loaves in a steamer; steam for 15 minutes. Remove the loaves then remove the cheesecloth

  4. Heat the wok then add 4 tablespoons oil or sesame oil. Fry the loaves on both sides over medium heat for about 30 seconds, or until both sides are medium brown. Remove and cut into 1 inch slices; arrange on a platter and serve.
