Chinese Szechuan Ma Po Tofu Recipe

Ingredients:

Chinese mushrooms, soaked for 20 minutes, stemmed and cut
into quarters

cup water

1/4 cup oil

teaspoons salted black beans, soaked for 10 minutes and
drained

tablespoons ground meat (beef or chicken or pork)

3
scallions, thinly sliced

4
cloves garlic, minced
-
2
tablespoons soy sauce
-
2
tablespoons hoisin sauce
-
3
teaspoons chili sauce
-
1
teaspoon sugar
-
3
cakes tofu, diced into cubes

1/4 cup chicken stock
-
2
teaspoons cornstarch dissolved with 3 tablespoons water

1
tablespoon sesame oil

Method:

Heat wok and oil. Add in black beans, stir fry for 1 minutes
-
Add meat, half the scallions and mushrooms, stir fry for 5
minutes
-
Add in garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, sugar,
tofu, and chicken stock. Mix well and bring to boil and
simmer for 4 minutes

Add in cornstarch, the remaining scallions and sesame oil.
Stir until the sauce is thickened

Ready to serve
