Chinese Home Style Tofu Recipe

Ingredients:

cake firm tofu

oz lean pork

spring onion

1
red chili
-
1
wood ear, soaked for 20 minutes

1/4 carrot
-

cloves garlic, finely sliced

1/2 cup water
-

cups cooking oil

1
tablespoon spicy bean paste or chili bean paste

teaspoon soy sauce
-
1/2 teaspoon sugar
-
1
teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Method:

Cut the tofu diagonally into 8 pieces.

Heat wok with cooking oil over medium heat. Add in tofu and
fry for 3 minutes until golden brown. Drain and set aside

Slice pork, carrot, wood ear, red chili into thin slices.
Cut spring onion into 1 inch sections

Heat wok with 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat. Fry spring
onion and garlic until fragrant and then add in pork, and
fry for 2 minutes

Add in tofu, carrot, wood ear, red chili, water, bean paste,
soy sauce and sugar, simmer for 5 minutes

Mix in cornstarch mixture and stir until sauce is thickened.
Add in sesame oil

Ready to serve
