Beancurd with Pork and Chili Pepper Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb lean pork, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 lb beancurd, cut into 8 cubes

  • 1 clove garlic, cut into small pieces

  • 1 tablespoon bean paste

  • 1 tablespoon chopped red pepper

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 3 green peppers, seeded and quartered

  • 1 bamboo shoot, sliced

  • 4 slices carrots

  • 4 Chinese mushrooms, soaked for 20 minutes, stemmed and halved

  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

  • 9 tablespoons oil

Method:

  1. Heat wok and 3 tablespoons oil over medium heat. Fry beancurd until light brown, remove to plate

  2. Heat 3 tablespoons oil, fry garlic for 1 minute.

  3. Mix bean paste, red pepper and soy sauce in a dish

  4. Add in green peppers, bamboo shoot, carrot and mushrooms; stir fry for another 5 minutes

  5. Then, add in bean paste mixture, sugar and pork; fry for another 5 minutes. Then add in beancurd

  6. Ready to serve
