Spicy Stir Fried Prawns Recipe

Ingredients:

• 12 prawns ( about 1 1/3 lbs)

• 1 tablespoon cornstarch

• Oil for frying

Ingredients A:

• 2 tablespoons chopped green onion

• 1 tablespoon chopped ginger root

• 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic clove

• 1 teaspoon hot bean paste

• 1 tablespoon fermented rice wine or cooking wine

• 4 tablespoons ketchup

Ingredients B:

• 3/4 teaspoon salt

• 1 tablespoon sugar

• 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch

• 1 cup water

Method:

1. Cut off the antenna and other appendages from the prawns; rinse and devein, drain. Before frying, coat the prawns with cornstarch

2. Heat the wok then add oil. Deep fry the shrimp over high heat for 2 minutes or until cooked; remove and drain. Remove the oil from the wok.

3. Reheat the wok then add 2 tablespoons oil. Stir fry Ingredients A until fragrant. Add Ingredients B and bring to a boil; add shrimp and stir to mix. Transfer to a serving plate and serve.
