Pork Chop in Orange Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz pork chop

  • 1 slice ginger

  • 1 shallot

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup cornflour

  • 1/2 wok oil, for deep frying

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

  • 1 slice orange, for garnishing

Marinade:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ginger juice

  • 1 teaspoon wine

  • 1 teaspoon cornflour

  • Pinch of pepper

  • 3 tablespoons orange juice

Gravy Mix:

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon chicken powder

  • 2 teaspoons custard powder

Method:

  1. Mince the ginger and shallot and blend in the marinade. Immerse the pork chop and soak for 30 minutes. Turn over and marinade the other side for another 30 minutes

  2. Beat the egg. Dip the pork chop in the egg to coat well and dust with cornflour

  3. Heat the wok and 1/2 wok oil. Deep fry the pork chop until golden brown. Remove, drain and arrange on platter

  4. Mix the gravy ingredients. Heat a saucepan and simmer gravy mix over low heat. Continue to stir until gravy is thickened.

  5. Stir in cooked oil and pour over pork chop. Garnish with orange slice

  6. Ready to serve
