Chinese Spiced Pineapple Pork Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

  • 4 boneless pork loin steaks

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste

  • 16 oz pineapple rings in juice, drained and reserve juice

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon five spice powder

  • Cilantro leaf, to serve

  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce

Marinade:

  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 tablespoon dry sherry

Method:

  1. Marinade the pork loin steaks with marinade ingredient for 30 minutes

  2. Heat the pan and oil, fry the pork for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and almost cooked through

  3. Mix sugar, soy sauce, tomato paste, and most of the pineapple juice in a bowl

  4. Add the pineapple rings to the pan alongside the pork

  5. Fry chili and five spice powder for 1 minute

  6. Tip in soy mix and let it bubble around the pork and pineapple for few minutes until slight sticked

  7. Sprinkle with cilantro leaf

  8. Ready to serve
