Soy Braised Cod or Halibut Recipe

Ingredients:

1/3 cup lard

scallions, finely chopped

slices ginger root, finely chopped

1lb cod or halibut fillets, cut into bite size pieces

tablespoons dry sherry

tablespoons soy sauce

1
tablespoon sugar
-
1/2 cup water
-
1
tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 1/2 tablespoons water

1
teaspoon sesame oil

Shredded scallions to garnish

Method:

Melt the lard in a pan over high heat.

Add scallions, and ginger; stir fry for 30 seconds.

Add fishes and stir gently to separate.

Add sherry and bring to boil. Then stir in the soy sauce,
sugar and water. Simmer for about 10 minutes

Add the cornstarch mixture and simmer, stir until the sauce
is thickened. Add the sesame oil, garnish with shredded
scallions
-
Ready to serve
