Honey Lemon Fish Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb cod fish fillet or other fish fillet

Marinade:

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1/3 tablespoon ketchup

  • 3 tablespoons honey (for best result, use Manuka honey)

  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

Method:

  1. Mix salt, sesame oil and egg for marinade

  2. Mix all sauce ingredients and set aside

  3. Thaw fillet, wash and cut into pieces. Marinade with step 1 marinade mixture

  4. Coat fillet pieces with cornstarch. Deep fry to golden brown, scoop up and drain

  5. Heat and stir sauce mixture from step 2 to a boil. Add in fillet, and stir until  sauce is evenly coated on fillet

  6. Ready to serve
