Tea Leaf Egg Recipe (Char Yeh Tan)

Ingredients:

  • 5 hard-boiled eggs

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons or 3 tea bags of tea leaf

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 whole star anise

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups water

Method:

  1. Craze the shell of the eggs by tapping them gently with spoon. Just crack the shell, don't remove the shell

  2. Mix water and other ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil

  3. Put in eggs and simmer for 30-40 minutes

  4. Remove the shells, ready to serve
