Ham Shao Mai Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 5.5 oz ham

  • 8 oz minced pork

  • 1/2 cup water chestnut

  • 1 tablespoon chopped spring onion

  • 20 pieces shao mai skins

Seasoning:

  • 1/3 teaspoon salt

  • 1/3 teaspoon sugar

  • small amount of MSG (optional)

  • small amount of sesame oil and pepper

Method:

  1. Cut the ham into 4" X 4" thin slices. Mix with the pork, water chestnut, spring onion, and seasoning. Stir well, this is filling

  2. Put a slice of ham on the center of each wrapper, followed by the filling. Pinch and seal the edges. Put in the steamer with sealed-side face down to steam over high heat for 8 minutes.
