Cured Meat and Turnip Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb rice flour

  • 4 lbs turnip

  • 2 strips Chinese sausage

  • 4 oz cured meat

  • 3 oz dried shrimps

  • 1 tablespoon deep fried, chopped shallots

  • Small amount of salt, pepper, MSG (optional)

Method:

  1. Dice the Chinese sausage, cured meat and dried shrimps

  2. Mix with chopped deep fried shallots. Use 3 tablespoons of lard to stir fry (ingredient A)

  3. Peel turnip, cut into shreds, by using 3 cups water to boil it till cooked and transparent. Add salt, pepper, and MSG, mix them with ingredient A (ingredient B)

  4. Add 3 cups water to rice flour, stir it into paste, add ingredient B.

  5. Stir fry in a pan till it becomes sticky paste, press in mould (brushed with oil).

  6. Steam for 1 hour till no sticky paste stick on the chopstick when tested.

  7. It can be served directly or slice and pan fried
