Soy Sauce Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 (~1.5 lb) chicken

  • 3 slices ginger

  • 2 stalks spring onion (cut into pieces, about 2 inch long each)

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Seasoning:

  • 1.5 cups chicken marinade   or

  • 1.5 cups soy sauce with 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1.5 cups water

Method:

  1. Saute ginger and spring onion with 1 tablespoon of oil till fragrant. Add seasoning mixture and bring it to boil

  2. Put in chicken, cover and cook in low heat. Turn the chicken every 5 minutes until deep brown (about 20 minutes cook time)

  3. Put in sesame oil. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and poach for  another 5 minutes

  4. Drain and cut the chicken into serving pieces. Pour some cooking sauce over chicken and serve
