Stir Fried Beef with Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb shredded beef tenderloin or flank steak

  • 1 cup oil for frying

  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot

  • 1/2 cup celery, cut into 2 inch pieces and shredded finely lengthwise

Ingredients A:

  • 1/2 tablespoon hot bean paste

  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger root, chopped

  • 1/2 tablespoon green onion, chopped

Ingredients B:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 tablespoon cooking wine or sherry

  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

  • Dash of sesame oil

  • 1/3 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorn powder

Method:

  1. Heat the wok then add oil. Deep fry the shredded beef for 12 minutes; remove the beef and drain. Remove the oil from the wok and clean

  2. Reheat the wok then add 1 1/2 tablespoons oil. Stir fry Ingredients A until fragrant. Add shredded carrot and celery; stir fry until tender.

  3. Add beef and Ingredients B; stir to mix. Remove to a serving plate; serve
