Chinese Steamed Beef Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef steak

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt and black pepper

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 2 tablespoons sherry

  • 1 teaspoon wine vinegar

  • 2 spring onions

Method:

  1. Slice beef steak into thin strips

  2. Blend cornstarch, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, oil, sherry and vinegar; pour over beef in a bowl

  3. Chop the onions very finely and sprinkle over the top. Cover tightly and leave it for at least 1 hour

  4. Place bowl of beef on a stand in a saucepan or wok of boiling water, cover the saucepan and steam until beef if tender. You can use the electric steamer as well.

  5. Ready to serve.
