Fried Shrimp Cakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 9 oz shrimps, shelled and minced

  • 4 toasts

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds

  • 4 cups cooking oil

Seasoning:

  • 1/2 teaspoon dry sherry

  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

  • 1 egg white

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper

  • Pinch of MSG (optional)

Method:

  1. Mix and blend shrimps and seasoning mixture until it forms sticky paste

  2. Cut each toast into 4 pieces, and put 1 tablespoon shrimp paste on top of the toast, sprinkle black sesame seeds on top of shrimp paste

  3. Heat wok and cooking oil over high heat. Place the toast (with shrimp paste facing down) and fry for 2 minutes or until shrimp paste is fully cooked.

  4. Turn the toast over, and fry for another 1 minute until golden brown

  5. Ready to serve
